Continuing the Journey: Building on Last Week's Progress in Crimson Sea

Image
This week in "Crimson Sea," we’ve been continuing to build on the groundwork laid last week. With the design of our first dungeon complete, we’re now focusing on bringing it to life and preparing to develop additional dungeons with unique boss rooms and layouts. The design phase gave us a clear vision, and now it’s all about executing these concepts and refining them to create challenging, memorable environments for players to explore. Our team is also carrying forward the work on the game’s unique systems. I’ve been delving deeper into developing the mutiny and bank systems, aiming to bring even more strategic layers to the game. The mutiny system will require players to balance crew loyalty and avoid rebellion, while the bank system will allow them to manage and store resources for later use. These systems are still in their early stages, but each step brings us closer to weaving them seamlessly into the gameplay experience. Though other commitments have slowed our pace, e...

Dungeon Design Complete, Progress Slows, and New Systems in the Works for Crimson Sea

Development on "Crimson Sea" continues, though we’ve hit a bit of a slowdown due to life outside of the project. Despite that, we’ve made a solid step forward by completing the design of our first dungeon. This dungeon will set the tone for many more to come, each featuring unique boss rooms and creative layouts that will challenge players as they explore and fight their way through. While we haven’t yet fully built out the dungeon, the design phase is finished, and we’re excited to continue crafting more of these complex environments. As progress has slowed, our team has taken the opportunity to refine our future plans. We’re aiming to design dungeons that not only test combat skills but also offer a variety of puzzles and boss encounters. The design for these dungeons is shaping up nicely, but with life pulling us in different directions, we’ve had to take things a bit slower. However, we remain committed to pushing forward when we can. Meanwhile, I’ve started to work on i...

Dungeon Design, Save System Complete, and New Features on the Horizon for Crimson Sea

Image
Exciting updates are rolling in as we continue development on "Crimson Sea." Our team has successfully completed one dungeon, a light and mysterious environment filled with enemies and secrets. This dungeon is the first of many, and we’re already planning to create more to give players an expansive world of dangerous adventures. Each dungeon will offer unique challenges and treasures, making exploration a key part of the experience. We’ve also finished integrating the save data into the Soul’s tool scripts. This ensures that players can save their combat progress and return to their game with everything intact. It was a crucial step in combining the custom combat mechanics with the save system, and now that it’s complete, players can enjoy a smoother, more cohesive gameplay experience. Looking ahead, we’re still researching how to implement both a mutiny system and a bank system. The mutiny system would introduce a dynamic where players must manage their crew’s loyalty to p...

New Developments: Dungeons, Save Integration, and Mutiny System Research in Crimson Sea

Image
The adventure continues as we push forward with exciting new developments for "Crimson Sea." Our current focus is on crafting intricate dungeons that will offer players challenging experiences filled with enemies, puzzles, and hidden treasures. These dungeons are designed to complement the islands we’ve already built, adding a layer of depth and mystery to the game’s exploration elements. In addition to dungeon creation, we’re working on integrating the save data system into the scripts from the Soul's tool we previously added. This will allow players to retain their combat progress and configurations, ensuring a seamless experience when diving back into the game. Merging the save system with these custom combat mechanics is a critical step in making sure everything functions cohesively. We’re also diving into research on how to implement a mutiny system, which would introduce a thrilling layer of crew management and decision-making to the game. The idea of having your ...
